Public lecture by Dr Jacques Gauthier in the European Parliament in Brussels.
Please join us to hear about Israel’s legal rights under international law.
As Israel approaches its 77th Independence Day, we are honoured to invite you to a unique and timely public lecture by renowned international lawyer Dr. Jacques Gauthier: “The Question of Jerusalem in International Law – The Source of Israel’s Sovereignty Entitlements.”
Dr. Jacques Gauthier is a Canadian lawyer and an expert in international law, received his PhD in Political Science from the University of Geneva. He is a highly sought after speaker around the world. He has spent over two decades researching and defending Israel’s legal rights under international law, focusing particularly on Jerusalem and the historical foundations laid at the Paris Peace Conference and the San Remo Resolution of 1920.
As international law is frequently used as a tool to delegitimise Israel, Dr. Gauthier’s work offers a much-needed legal perspective grounded in documented historical facts. His extensive PhD thesis, “Sovereignty Over the Old City of Jerusalem,” completed at the University of Geneva, spans more than 1,200 pages and is considered one of the most authoritative sources on the legal status of Jerusalem and Israel.
Amid ongoing controversies surrounding Jerusalem—from claims denying the existence of the Jewish Temple to political developments such as the relocation of the U.S. Embassy—his work provides critical clarity on the legitimacy of Jewish claims to their eternal capital. Dr. Gauthier has dedicated his life to reaffirming the historical truth and legal rights granted to the Jewish people over the land of Israel.
